Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Privacy Policy on the Site, and you waive the right to receive specific notice of each such change or modification.

COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION ON THE “SITE”
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the Site includes:
Basic Personal Data
Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and telephone number, and demographic information, such as your age, gender, hometown, and interests, that you voluntarily give to us or when you choose to participate in various activities related to the “Site”, such as online chat and contact forms. You are under no obligation to provide us with personal information of any kind, however your refusal to do so may prevent you from using certain features of the “Site”.
Derivative Data
Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Site, such as your IP address, your browser type, your operating system, your access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the “Site”.
Mobile Device Data
Device information, such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer, and information about the location of your device, if you access the “Site” from a mobile device.
Third-Party Data
Information from third parties, such as personal information or network friends, if you connect your account to the third party and grant the Site permission to access this information.
COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION FOR OUR MOBILE MAPPING “SERVICES”
By use of mobile mapping cameras on vehicles (e.g. cars, boats, trucks, bikes, trains, …), Geckomatics collects imagery data from public environments such as roads, waterways, railways… and combines this with public geometric, land-registry data and GNSS (e.g. GPS, Galileo,…) technologies to produce 360° visuals and localise the imagery and its contents, including any objects in the public space (e.g. traffic signs, trees, garbage, street furniture, road quality,…).
These imagery may contain personal data, such as persons, license plates of vehicles (cars, e-bikes, motorbikes, boats, …) and properties visible from public environment (street, waterway, railway,..) level.
Indirectly the imagery gives also insights on the traject and locations of the driver of the vehicle that produces the imagery.
From the users of the applications of the mobile mapping services we collect contact details (name, email-address), IP-address, access codes and passwords related to our applications and log data of the interactions with our applications.

PURPOSE OF YOUR INFORMATION FOR OUR MOBILE MAPPING “SERVICES”
Geckomatics has the legitimate interest to collect, store, modify, analyse and distribute imagery data mentioned above for the following purposes:
Development, (re-)training and optimisations of machine learning models (e.g. for detecting and localisation of objects such as street furniture, cars, trees,…). We consider the (manual) labeling of the imagery as part of this process.
Provide the output of our models, such as mapping data and modified imagery (e.g. blurred, object tagged, segmented) to our customers or present a subset of this data to potential customers during prospection or tendering processes.
Compile anonymous statistical and historical data and analysis for use internally or with third parties.
Development and optimisation of visualization software.
Distribution of our models through our visualization software.

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you to:
Create and manage your account and keep a 360° view for customer relationship management.

Offer new products, services, and/or recommendations to you.

RETENTION POLICY
We only store your Personal Data as long as it is needed in relation to the purpose(s) for which it was collected and further processed.
In relation to visitors of our “Site”, all Personal Data that we process is connected to cookies, and are thus stored in accordance with our cookie policy.
In order for us to provide our “Services” we will keep any imagery where the personal data is blurred (as described in our security measures) as indefinitely. Besides our need to provide this data to our existing and future customers, this will enable us also to detect later on new object types or perform historical insights (e.g. from frequently mapped environments).
Imagery data before personal data blurring is kept only for 12 months. This is needed for the purpose of development, (re-)training and optimisations of machine learning models, including the blurring model.
Geckomatics will store the personal data received during the recruitment process by job applicants till maximum 1 year after the recruitment process.
SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Imagery data collected for our services are encrypted already during recording and stays encrypted during transfer and storage on our cloud storage provider. Only after pseudonymisation, such as blurring of faces and heads of identifiable persons and readable license plates, the imagery and/or derived mapping data is made available only for specific authenticated users (e.g. our customers) of our closed online application.
GENERAL RISK MITIGATION MEASURES
For our “Services” the images of a certain location or object are not taken continuously but only on the moment our mobile camera system passes through the public environment , via a frequency depending on the needs. Furthermore the images are not delivered real-time to our customers and their users : camera-images have to been uploaded first to the mobile mapping storage environment and processed first by our cutting-edge blurring algorithm.
Geckomatics follows the general policy to avoid any processing of data via the content on the imagery, that
Contains confidential information such as medical records, credit card details or government identification numbers
Contains information which can threat or harass organisations, groups or individuals including content that promotes violence or illegal acts
Can violate anyone else’s legal rights including copyrights.
Contains sexually explicit subject matter.
However, if you would still find content on the Imagery that would not be in line with these general policy conditions, you can inform us via the same contact address used for exercising your privacy rights.
DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:
By Law or to Protect Rights
If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.
Our (potential) Customers
To conclude and perform the mobile mapping “Services” to our customers we provide them the output of our models, such as mapping data and modified imagery.
A sample of the these data can be presented to potential customers during prospection and tendering processes.
Third-Party Service Providers
We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including payment processing, data labelling or data analysis, email delivery or other (chat, video, call, meeting, community,… ) collaboration services, hosting services for data storage and cloud based applications, customer service, and marketing assistance or marketing publishers. For these processors we conclude a data protection agreement.
For the processing of personal data of European Citizens our policy is to select by preference a service provider within the EEA (European Economic Area) or within a by Europe privacy-certified adequate country.
However we support a policy to improve developing countries (e.g. for some of our Labour-intensive labelling processing we give access to our cloud environment located in Europe at our partner in Kenia ). When making use of these countries we will take extra privacy protection measures : European Standard Clauses for data protection are amended to the data protection agreement. A data disclosure period by the processor is limited to the need by the processor. Specific for the “Services” imagery data is only contractual terms and conditions , only after blurring the images.
Marketing Communications
With your consent, and with an opportunity for you to withdraw consent or to object for direct marketing, we may share your information with third parties for marketing purposes, as permitted by law.
Interactions with Other Users
If you interact with other users of the “Site”, those users may see your name, profile photo, and descriptions of your activity, including sending invitations to other users, chatting with other users, liking posts, following blogs.
Online Postings
When you post comments, contributions or other content to the “Site”, your posts may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside the “Site” [and our mobile application] in perpetuity.
Affiliates
We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. Affiliates include our parent company and any subsidiaries, joint venture partners or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.
Sale or Bankruptcy
If we reorganize or sell all or a portion of our assets, undergo a merger, or are acquired by another entity, we may transfer your information to the successor entity. If we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, your information would be an asset transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur and that the transferee may decline honor commitments we made in this Privacy Policy.
Other
We are not responsible for the actions of third parties with whom you share personal or sensitive data, and we have no authority to manage or control third-party solicitations. If you no longer wish to receive correspondence, emails or other communications from third parties, you are responsible for contacting the third party directly.

We may use cookies, tracking pixels, and other tracking technologies on the Site to help customize the “Site” and improve your experience. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default. Website Analytics
We may also partner with selected third-party vendors, such as Cloudfare, Google Analytics, Hotjar, to allow tracking technologies and remarketing services on the Site through the use of first party cookies and third-party cookies, to, among other things, analyze and track users’ use of the Site, determine the popularity of certain content and better understand online activity. You are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions. We do not transfer personal information to these third-party vendors. However, if you do not want any information to be collected and used by tracking technologies, you can visit the third-party vendor.

The “Site” may contain links to third-party websites and applications of interest, including advertisements and external services, that are not affiliated with us. Once you have used these links to leave the “Site”, any information you provide to these third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy, and we cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of your information. Before visiting and providing any information to any third-party websites, you should inform yourself of the privacy policies and practices (if any) of the third party responsible for that website, and should take those steps necessary to, in your discretion, protect the privacy of your information. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other sites, services or applications that may be linked to or from the “Site”.
YOUR RIGHTS
Your principal rights under data protection law are:
the right to access – you can ask for copies of your personal data;
the right to rectification – you can ask us to rectify inaccurate personal data and to complete incomplete personal data;
the right to erasure – you can ask us to erase your personal data, e.g. in case of imaginery you can ask to blur objects (which may identify you or harm your privacy or other rights) in our stored images in case our standard blurring activities (see security measures) would not be sufficient. You can use this right if you notice that your license plate or face requires extra blurring or if you would like to us to blur your entire boat, car or your entire house. In that situation it is important that you specify the detailed location address of the object and where relevant the timestamp of the imagery.
the right to restrict processing – you can ask use to restrict the processing of your personal data;
the right to object to processing – you can object to the processing of your personal data to the extent that the legal basis of our processing is legitimate interest (e.g. objections against processing for mobile mapping purposes can be executed via the blurring requests as described in point 3 “the right to erasure”). You have the absolute right to object to the processing for the purpose of direct marketing.
the right to data portability – you can ask that we transfer your personal data to another organisation or to you;
the right to complain to a supervisory authority – you can complain about our processing of your personal data; and

the right to withdraw consent – to the extent that the legal basis of our processing of your personal data is consent, you can withdraw that consent.
